The High School

Marie Curie comprehensive high school has been in existence for more than 40 years. Our proud heritage is comprised of thousands of scholars from the province of Teramo, most of which are now successfully working in both  Italy and all over the world. Our building, located in Giulianova Paese (Giulianova on the Hill), is beautifully decorated with murals, paintings and art works created over the years by the students themselves.

Today’s youth are asked to face great challenges: complex knowledge, multidisciplinarity, global thinking. An innovative education system should address these challenges and our school strive to enhance the students’ education with the key competencies necessary for their future as international citizens.

At Marie Curie, we offer a full range of subjects covering scientific, literary and linguistic studies, while promoting a wide variety of skill sets for our students. We strive to prepare open minded students capable of deciding for their own professional future and embracing their chosen career paths. The staff, parents and local community work collaboratively to build constructive relationships, to provide a relevant and stimulating program and to cultivate an environment based on respect and responsibility.

Our school has a distinguished academic history. We are the recipients of notable recognitions such as “best province school ranking” at the Esami di Stato, and several notable awards at the “International Olympiad in Informatics”, the “National Olympiad in Natural Sciences” and the “International Juevens Translatores”.

An international career!

Since 2017, we have offered the Cambridge IGCSE-International General Certificate of Secondary Education-for our 14 to 16 year old students. As a worldwide program recognised by leading universities and employers, it consists in an international passport to progression and success, corresponding to the British national GCSE - General Certificate of Secondary Education.

Most notably, our school offers a course instructed by an English-speaking native teacher that allows scholars to engage in English language studies focused in Science and Geography. The Cambridge IGCSE certification takes place at the end of each course and students are assessed by the CIE-Cambridge International Examination.

The Cambridge IGCSE certification is widely recognised by higher education institutions and employers around the world as evidence of academic achievement.
